Before you start

Make sure VoiceOver Maker and iMovie are installed and updated on your iPhone. Prepare a script or outline with key talking points. When exporting from VoiceOver Maker, use WAV for the highest quality inside iMovie.

Recommended settings

Voice pace: 0.95 to 1.05x · Pitch: -2 to +2 · Export: WAV 48kHz.

Optional gear

AirPods or wired headphones for monitoring, and a tripod or MagSafe mount for steady framing.

Steps

  1. 1
Create or import your script. Launch VoiceOver Maker, tap New project, and paste your narration. Choose a voice, then adjust pitch, pace, and emotion. Use emphasis tags on important words.
  2. 2
Render and polish the audio. Tap Generate to create the voiceover. Use the mastering panel to reduce background noise, then preview on headphones.
  3. 3
Export to the Files app. Select Share > Save to Files and pick a project folder. WAV keeps the best quality for editing.
  4. 4
Import into iMovie. Open iMovie, tap Create Project > Movie, add your video clips, then tap the plus icon and choose the exported audio file.
  5. 5
Align the narration. Trim the clip edges to match scene changes. Use the volume slider to set levels underneath background music.
  6. 6
Preview and export. Watch the full edit, check for sync issues, and export in 4K/1080p. Share directly to Photos, Files, or social apps.

Bonus tips

  • Use markers in VoiceOver Maker to label scene changes. The exported captions file can guide your cuts in iMovie.
  • Enable Reduce Loud Sounds in iMovie audio settings to prevent music peaks from overtaking the AI narration.
  • Save your VoiceOver Maker project to reuse the same brand voice for sequels or updates.
